Genesis of Citadel IT
Citadel IT emerged five years ago through the collaborative efforts of Neil Poulton, an experienced IT professional, and his business partners from Citadel Secure, specialising in personal and cyber security, and business development catering to the Defence and Aerospace sectors. However, the origins of this enterprise can be traced back to an unexpected meeting between Neil and his future co-founders.
After navigating the IT landscape since the early 1990s and eventually venturing into independent consulting in 2017, Neil established his own sole trader IT enterprise called Evertrain Technology Solutions. Initially focused on specialised productivity systems, Neil's consulting services spanned diverse industries. While his role began as a consultant, his technical expertise led him to more hands-on technical tasks.
Serendipity struck when a neighbouring company within their shared office complex sought Neil's assistance with an IT project. This company turned out to be Citadel Secure. The introduction occurred when the reception directed them to Neil, forming the first connection.
"I resolved David's IT issues and provided ongoing support for several months. As we collaborated on a specific client projects, they proposed that I join them as a contracted IT specialist," recounts Neil.
In the course of his collaboration with Citadel, Neil had already partnered with D&S Solutions and Heterodox Solutions, who, together with Evertrain Technology Solutions, laid the groundwork for Citadel IT.
Around a year later, Citadel Secure’s partners approached Neil with the proposition of forming a new company, marking the inception of Citadel IT. Right from the start, the enterprise enjoyed a robust and expanding client base.
"I transitioned my existing clients from my sole trader venture, and we also welcomed clients from Citadel Secure. This provided us with a solid foundation and enabled our growth," Neil elaborates.
Citadel IT swiftly established itself as a reputable presence, particularly within the small to medium business sector along with businesses actively engaged in Defence markets. Renowned for its reliability, credibility, and extensive expertise as a Managed Service Provider (MSP), the company forged valuable partnerships with industry leaders like Microsoft, Google, Datto, Barracuda, and Kaseya. This positioned Citadel IT as a prominent end-to-end MSP for small to medium business.
Tailoring solutions to meet unique requirements, Citadel IT covers a wide spectrum of IT domains, including cloud computing, security, and networking, among others.
